“One Blue Letter” by Microtherapist (01 Feb 2019)

https://youtu.be/Z50kG2a47qM I recorded this in Ableton Live 9 using a 32-bit plugin called Random Wave and some M4L LFOs. I bounced it to two audio tracks and converted this to 64-bit. Then, in Live 11, stretched it about 35% longer than it had originally been and added fades, and finally mixed with Live’s Hybrid Reverb and Echo devices in varying degrees.

The title comes from my notes in Feb 2019.

Jimmy Lem recorded this on 01 Feb 2019 for Blissville Electro-Magnetic Laboratories & Blister Pop Unlimited & about two months prior to Day 1 of the 100 Day Project.

Photograph was taken in Massapequa on 09 Feb 2019 with an iPhone 7 Plus.

“Honey Waterloo” by Microtherapist (20 Dec 2021)

https://youtu.be/0oSfxWCrlzY I recorded this about a year ago while exploring my Neutron semi-modular. I also used a Korg SQ1 sequencer, as well as Ableton Live.

I derived the title from the name of the starting preset I used in the photo, as well as other photos, which may become part of a finished album package.

Jimmy Lem recorded this on 20 Dec 2021 for Blissville Electro-Magnetic Laboratories & Blister Pop Unlimited. This was Day 901 of the 100 Day Project.

Photograph was taken in Massapequa on 24 Oct 2021 and edited in Picasa 3 and Adobe Lightroom.

“Not Here To Sell You The Dream” by Microtherapist (13 Dec 2022)

https://youtu.be/Mr32PGBbs8Y I used a Zoom H6 to record my voice, drums and appliances in various ambiences around my living space. I then used Ableton Live to edit and stretch the material into two tracks, one mono and one stereo.

The title is derived from something I wrote in May 2019.

Jimmy Lem recorded this on 13 Dec 2022 for Blissville Electro-Magnetic Laboratories & Blister Pop Unlimited. This was Day 1119 of the 100 Day Project.

“By Noise, The Culture, The Access, By Exposure” by Microtherapist

https://youtu.be/t1NZyd3fl6Q This one is from December 2019. I used Ableton Live’s Simpler and Tension devices.

The title comes from a note I wrote myself in early December 2019.

Jimmy Lem recorded this on 10 Dec 2019 for Blissville Electro-Magnetic Laboratories & Blister Pop Unlimited.

Two different mixes existed for this. Both were completed on the day of recording. This version presents a combination of both.

Photograph by Jimmy Lem at an unknown time – best guess is 2015-16, summer. Kodak Gold film was used, 200 ASA. Film was developed in Nov 2022.

“Forgery In Progress” by Microtherapist (26 Nov 2022)

https://youtu.be/4yhF0q_gCgc This one used mainly Ableton Live or Max4Live devices, including two arpeggiators. The sound generation was from a Live instrument made by Brian Funk called Snapple Can Pad. The midi used here was from another generative session I did earlier with a piano sound and for this, I ran the midi track through all sorts of modulated Live midi devices.

The title comes from a note I wrote myself either in October or November of this year.

“Cross-Eyed Chives” by Microtherapist (30 Sep 2019)

https://youtu.be/8LeHn2u0Ho0 For this, I used the following VCV Rack modules – Blamsoft XFX Wave, some Surge VOCs, JW Modules NoteSeq, Audible Instruments Tidal Modular and Random Sampler, some Vult Basal oscillators and AS TriLFO.

The title comes from a note I wrote myself on 31 May 2019. I grow chives every year. I like them in scrambled eggs with some black pepper and porcini salt.

“Nursing Your Prose Through Troubled Times” by Microtherapist (09 Nov 2022)

https://youtu.be/w1QC6sqN4Xo This was done on Eurorack system that includes a Braids clone and a Neutron semi-modular system, a Zoom MS-70CDR. This was recorded into Ableton Live 11 and used some effects there as well. There’s a bit of a gap in the recording when I was changing the main audio out cables and I kept “tape” rolling.

This was recorded on 09 Nov 2022 by Jimmy Lem for Blissville Electro-Magnetic Laboratories & Blister Pop Unlimited.
