Ear

DSC00439_edit

My eyes draw their blinds
As my spine turns to ice

Could you please whisper my name
Into my ear just
One more time?

Spilling Out

DSC00199

I know just how it feels
To be spilling out all over
All over,

To have that tear too shy
To come out and play
And still you
Spill out
All over
Anyway

Where Have You Been?

montaukfield_1990

Where have you been for so long?
So long, almost gave it up
Seen you in women I’ve loved, still
I kept waiting

Now I’m spinning, spinning, still
Standing, not falling
Where have you been for so long?

So Tired

DSC06082_crop2_layers

Act like nothing
Happened, keep your head
Down and hope
For the best, don’t feed the stray
Dog or it might come back.

Do what you are supposed to do.
Spoke when spoken to.

I’m so tired of being quiet
So tired of my own anxious
Stilted awkward
Fear
So tired
So tired of fear

Any Time

Come back just
One more time and
Let me ask you

How can I
Do this
Miss you
How?

Come back just
One more time and
Let me show you

Life has continued in
Motion, in whispers and shouts, air
Trees, water, sky and then also your eyes
In my eyes, in my cold reflection
I see you warm and clearly now
One more time

Let me tell you
That I am so lucky to know you
I continue for you, any time
I see you any time

The More Real

DSC00913

The more real…

The more real
It is, the more
It can’t be
Controlled
The less you try
The more real
It is

To see
To be scared

Always has been
A blur
A tear-streaked someday
A fuzzy recollection
Of something that never was

To see

I see

Vines Entwined

ADSC00404_Crop_auto

The space
Between you and I
Allows us to grow
Towards each other

Like vines on a fence
If the sun is right
Eventually entwined

Silence

Image

I wish you could tell me
How you’d like to be touched
Instead of this

Uncomfortable

Fumbling silence

We should be closer than this

The Rest Of My Day

mid80s_sun

Sitting in the back of the cab
I let the wind kiss my face
I don’t want a single thing
To erase
This good feeling
I have about you

Walking away from the cab
I feel the sun warm my door
But only hours
Before
I would have
Gotten soaked letting
Myself in

Looking up at the sky
I say goodbye to the rain
And see the rest of
My day
With your face and your heart
In my mind
